v0.0.1 - Reworked Map


Since we’ve started to work more and more on the Game Design to clear important concepts of the game, we realized that reworking the map will be inevitable. We had a lot of problems with previous versin of it, things like:

  • Small road paths, where not many creatures can walk;
  • Strange paths with lots of baboons (don’t ask why xD);
  • No enough space for building area;
  • Not enough space for points of interest;
  • Way too much space used by water;
  • Not many buildings where implemented and it looked strange to have so many trees;

This things where drawing us back, not letting us expand the gameplay in future too. We didn’t want to rework the map completely, we only wanted to make it a bit more functional.

What did we manage to accomplish with the new map? We’ll the short answer is “Many things”. We’ve maneged to:

  • Eleminated the problems from above;
  • Add points of interest;
  • Create a more dynamic map with moving flags, trees and other;
  • Added room for expansion;

📍What are points of interest

Points of interest are fountains that can be used to generate mana. Mana is used to place cards, reroll current pool of cards and upgrade your king. To claim the magical water from the fountain and claim your mana, your units need to pass first the fountain when it’s filled up. The refill is every every 4 rounds.
